When Emily Huddleston of Redfin asked us to contribute to her article of Top Tips for Renovating a Kitchen, we were super excited to share our unique knowledge. Applying actual knowledge from working in restaurants, we design kitchens that actually work and look beautiful (yes, you can have both!)

Anyone know has worked in a restaurant knows that dirty dishes and food prep don’t mix. Adding a second sink in the kitchen may sound like a luxury but most kitchens are large enough that two work zones can coexist: one for cooking, and one for cleaning.  If you just add a small prep sink you’re already ahead of the game, but to take it up a notch, adding a sink with a drainboard increases the functionality even further. Rinse off veggies and let them drip on the drainboard instead of the counter helps to keep the kitchen clean.
